When Ron contacted us in 2008 during his Dix genealogy research, we could not have expected such a warm bond with family we had not known we had. We got to know him as a generous and cheerful family man with a wonderful sense of humour, a fascinating life story and a welcoming nature, with an ever enquiring mind – and the sentence I will always remember even from our first ever visit to his home is “The sun must be over the yard arm somewhere”… We will remember you very fondly every time we lift a glass to your memory, Ron, as you take your well-earned rest.
